Inner strength

I suppose you have heard many times about the term ‘inner strength’, and maybe you feel it is something really abstract and of no true essence. But the truth is, in order to overcome every day’s challenges and obstacles, the force that keeps us moving and fighting and creating the conditions for a life much sought after and deserved is the one called ‘inner strength’.

Many times in your life you may have believed that you are not one of the strong human beings, and maybe you have left yourself sinking and drowning in negative situations and emotions. I know that! I’ve been there many times in my life!

Would it be helpful to see things from another perspective though? For example, just think about how many thousands and millions of years have passed and how life has evolved on Earth. The human kind by itself has overcome so so many challenges and hardships throughout the mankind history, and also, your own life journey shouldn’t be overlooked as it is part of this wider flow of life.

You are strong

So, yes! You are strong, that’s the truth! If you start observing yourself in the little details of everyday small or big challenges you come through, you will definetely see that inner strength is what makes you keep on walking and striving and managing things. Other times you manifest a greater and more visible volume of strength, while others it seems as though passiveness has prevailed. But the important thing here is to acknowledge even the existence of this strength.

Igniting the inner strength

There are many ways that someone can use to ignite this inner strength. Here I recommend 5 ways that I personally have been using and that have helped me a lot with moving forward even when I feel that I “failed” in some way.

  1. Practice Self-Awareness: Observe yourself. Understand your emotions and reactions. Be present. Self-awareness is a skill which needs to be practiced.
  2. Set Personal Goals: Having clear goals gives you something to work and strive for.
  3. Stay Positive: Maintain a positive mindset, even in hard times. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow.
  4. Build Resilience: Learn to stand up again on your feet after any “failure”. Failure is not the end, but a stepping stone to success. Focus on the solution, rather than the problem itself.
  5. Seek Support: Don't hesitate to seek help when needed. We all need support sometimes. Seek for a mentor or someone more experienced in your field who has a positive and growth mindset.

Try to be persistent in showing up every day in the things you have to do, even if that means to just acknowledge the situation and choose for now to do nothing. Whatever your choice may be, make it consciously and you will certainly see yourself evolve to the desired direction.
